EXTERIOR
Painting exterior walls is quite different from painting interior walls because of the variety of siding types available and the equipment needed for working off the ground.
Siding material ranges from cedar lap, board and bat, and slate, to masonite, stucco and masonry. Each requires slight technique variations, but all follow the same basic principles. The type of siding may dictate what you use to apply paint.
The techniques of exterior house painting we use:
Power Wash Cleaning
The technique we use is more of a hand washing and power rinsing, as scouring your home with high pressure is now illegal due to new lead regulations. Washing your exterior project is an important step prior to painting, as well as scheduled maintenance washings every 2-3 years. Doing this helps cut down on salts and debris, which increases the life of your paint job, and allows us to discover and remedy any issues on problematic areas.
Repair/Replace
In some instances (non structural) Henry W’s Painting can repair or replace wood, trim, stucco, sheetrock, as well as numerous amounts of other handyman type repairs. This helps us provide you with a one stop shop for your project.
EPA Certified Renovator
We practice lead safe techniques overseen by an in house EPA certified renovator, in compliance with the new required certifications.
INTERIOR
WHAT WE DO
We are experienced interior painters. First Items are placed in the center of the room and covered with clean, new plastic sheeting. All floors are protected with drop cloths, hardwood flooring is protected with construction cloths.
PREPARE
Based on your estimate details, all holes and cracks in ceilings, walls, and trim are filled; stains are sealed, all walls and surfaces will receive a light sanding. If you home needs drywall repairs we can handle that too!
PAINT
Repaired areas are primed, and premium quality paint is applied to a uniform finish.
CLEAN UP
Furniture and accessories are moved back to their desired locations. Floors and carpets are vacuumed and swept. All of our materials are removed. We leave you with the left over paint for touch ups!
